Srinagar, Sept 7: Enforcement authorities on Sunday seized around 340 kilograms of meat at Srinagar Airport after it was found being transported without proper labeling.
According to officials, the enforcement team at Air Cargo Srinagar had received specific inputs regarding suspicious cargo movement. Acting swiftly, they intercepted a vehicle outside the airport premises in coordination with the Sales Tax Department.
“On inspection, nearly 340 kg of meat was recovered, packed without any label, source information, or mandatory quality details,” officials said.
They added that the matter is being examined under relevant rules, and further investigation has been launched to trace the source of the consignment.
