Jammu Police Solves Theft Case; Stolen Property Worth ₹2 Lakhs Recovered, Two Accused Arrested in Bathandi
Jammu Police has successfully solved a theft case with the arrest of two accused persons and recovery of stolen property worth approximately ₹2 lakhs by PP Bathindi.On August 11, 2026, a complaint was received at Police Post Bathindi regarding theft at the residence of Sh. Bashir Ahmed Mir S/o Ashan, R/o Dooru, District Anantnag, presently residing at Bathindi. Acting promptly on the complaint, FIR No. 254/2026 under Sections 331(4) and 305(A) BNS was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation was taken up.During the course of investigation, the police team of Police Post Bathindi conducted sustained investigation and developed specific leads regarding the involvement of the accused persons. Based on the available evidence, the following accused were arrested:- Saqib Malik S/o Shajad Parvez, R/o Malik Market, Jammu.- Harmit Raja S/o Parvez Raja, R/o District Kishtwar, presently residing at Gujjar Nagar, Jammu.During questioning, the accused persons disclosed their involvement in the commission of the theft. On the basis of their disclosure statements and subsequent investigation, stolen property worth approximately ₹2 lakhs was recovered from their possession/at their instance.The recovered stolen property includes:- 07 Gas Cylinders- 04 Gas Stoves- 02 Tap Mixers- 10 Taps- 01 Blanket- 02 LED TVs- 01 Washbasin- 02 Induction Heaters- 20 Concealed Bulbs- 10 MCBs- 01 Carpet- 02 Rice CookersFurther investigation is underway to ascertain the involvement of the arrested accused in other similar theft cases and to recover any remaining stolen property.Jammu Police reiterates its commitment to preventing and detecting crime and ensuring the safety and security of the public.
