Rajouri, Aug 22 (CNS): Mohd Ayaz Raina, Lecturer in Botany at Government Higher Secondary School Dalhori in Rajouri district, has been selected for the National Award to Teachers 2026, becoming the only awardee from Jammu and Kashmir this year.
The prestigious award will be conferred on Teachers’ Day, September 5.
Raina’s selection recognises his 13 years of dedication and contribution to the field of education. Expressing gratitude, he said the award is not merely a personal honour but a recognition of the collective efforts of his students, fellow teachers, educational institutions, family and all those who supported him throughout his journey.
He has previously received several recognitions, including the National ICT Award 2017, J&K UT Best Teacher Award 2021, Global Teacher Award 2021 and Global Best Educational Poster Award 2020.
His selection has brought pride to Rajouri and the entire education fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the contribution of teachers serving in remote and challenging geographical areas.
