Jammu, Oct 19: Police have arrested a man for allegedly stealing gold ornaments from an idol inside a temple in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The accused has been identified as Shakti Kumar Verma, a resident of Garhi village in Udhampur. Police said they recovered 30 grams of stolen gold ornaments worth around Rs 3 lakh from his possession.
The theft occurred on October 15 at a temple located in the main market area of Katra. Following the incident, police registered a case and launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of the accused and recovery of the stolen items.
