Jammu, Nov 13: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said that not every person from Jammu and Kashmir is linked to terrorism, adding that viewing all Kashmiris with suspicion makes it harder to maintain peace and trust among people.
Speaking to reporters in Jammu, Omar Abdullah, as quoted by the Kashmir News Observer, said, “No amount of condemnation is enough for this horrific act. The brutal killing of innocent people in such a manner is unacceptable — no religion permits this. The investigation is underway, and all those responsible must be punished.”
He emphasized that only a small number of individuals are trying to disrupt peace and harmony in Jammu and Kashmir. “Not every person in Jammu and Kashmir is a terrorist or connected to terrorism. Unfortunately, when every Kashmiri or Kashmiri Muslim is looked at with suspicion, it becomes very difficult to keep people on the right path,” he said.
The Chief Minister further stated that while some educated individuals have been found involved in such activities, it is essential that innocent people are not targeted. “Those responsible for this act must face strict punishment, but innocent citizens should not suffer,” he added.
