Flight Operations Fully Suspended at Srinagar Airport Due to Snowfall

Srinagar, Jan 23: Flight operations at Srinagar International Airport were completely suspended on Friday morning as heavy snowfall and poor visibility disrupted air traffic across the Kashmir Valley, officials said.

A senior airport official said that flight services initially faced intermittent delays and cancellations, but worsening weather conditions later forced a complete suspension of operations.

“All scheduled arrivals and departures for the day have been cancelled due to continuous snowfall and low visibility,” the official said. The suspension affects flights operated by Air India, IndiGo, Air India Express, SpiceJet and Akasa Air.

Earlier in the day, at least 26 flight movements, including arrivals and departures, were cancelled. These included major services connecting Srinagar with Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Jammu.

Officials said flight operations will resume only after weather conditions improve and visibility returns to safe levels. Passengers have been advised to remain in contact with their respective airlines for the latest updates.
