Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today expressed deep sorrow over the tragic demise of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ramnagar, Rajinder Singh Rana, and his son, who lost their lives in a devastating landslide at Thuroo area of Reasi district.
In a condolence message shared on X, the Office of the Chief Minister stated, “Chief Minister has expressed profound grief over the tragic death of SDM Ramnagar, Rajinder Singh Rana and his son in a landslide at Thuroo, Reasi.”
Describing the incident as an irreparable loss, Omar Abdullah conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, praying for eternal peace for the departed souls. He emphasized the magnitude of the tragedy, terming the sudden demise of a dedicated officer and his young son as a loss to the entire administrative fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Minister also directed the concerned authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured, if any, and assured full support to the family of the deceased during this hour of immense grief.
The sudden landslide, triggered by incessant rains, caught the SDM and his son unaware while they were in the Thuroo area, leading to their death.
