Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that restoring Jammu and Kashmir as India’s top tourist destination requires joint efforts from the government and all tourism stakeholders. Speaking at FICCI’s ‘Tourism Revival Dialogue’ at SKICC Srinagar, he stressed the need to improve the tourist experience and build a stronger tourism ecosystem. He highlighted initiatives like Project SPREAD, which aims to develop nine new tourist spots across Jammu and Kashmir. The Chief Minister also spoke about the diverse tourism potential of Jammu & Kashmir and the importance of better connectivity and niche tourism sectors like MICE, golf, and destination weddings. He urged the tourism fraternity to remain involved, share suggestions, and work together to make J&K a vibrant and resilient tourist hub.
