New Delhi, Sept 1: Oil Marketing Companies have slashed the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹51.50, effective Monday. The rates of 14.2-kg domestic cylinders remain unchanged.
In Delhi, a commercial cylinder will now cost ₹1,580, down from ₹1,631.50. Prices have also been revised in other metros – ₹1,684 in Kolkata, ₹1,531.50 in Mumbai, and ₹1,738 in Chennai, according to Indian Oil Corporation.
Domestic LPG prices, unchanged since April 8, continue at ₹853 in Delhi, ₹868.50 in Chennai, ₹879 in Kolkata, and ₹852.50 in Mumbai.
The latest cut is expected to benefit small businesses, eateries, and hotels that rely on commercial LPG for daily operations.
Last month, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that the Centre had approved ₹30,000 crore compensation for oil companies, helping keep LPG prices stable despite global market volatility.
