Srinagar, Sep 27: The Special Crime Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir on Saturday carried out searches at five locations in Srinagar and Budgam districts as part of an investigation into a cheating case, officials said.
According to a CBK statement, the case was registered following a complaint that the victim was duped of several lakhs on the pretext of a land sale. The complainant was given documents believed to be genuine, but it later emerged that the land did not belong to the alleged sellers.
The agency said the searches are underway and further investigation is continuing.
