KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 24: A District Level Coordination Meeting on Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI) 2.0 was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pankaj Kumar Sharma.
The PAI 2.0 is a multi-domain and multi-sectoral index formulated to assess the holistic development, performance and progress of panchayats across a range of socio-economic indicators. The initiative aims to measure community well-being and enhance the role of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) as vibrant centres of local self-governance and inclusive development.
During the meeting, the DC was apprised on the objectives of PAI 2.0, stressing its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The DC emphasized how the localization of SDGs through PAI 2.0 will make development goals more relatable and actionable for rural communities.
He further highlighted the nine core themes of PAI 2.0, including poverty-free and enhanced livelihood panchayat; healthy panchayat; child-friendly panchayat; water-sufficient panchayat; clean and green panchayat; self-sufficient infrastructure panchayat; socially secured panchayat; panchayat with good governance and women-friendly panchayat.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the significance of inter-departmental convergence in implementing PAI 2.0. He noted that effective collaboration among departments will ensure efficiency, avoid duplication of efforts and deliver tangible benefits to the community at the grassroots level.
He further directed all the officers of the line departments to complete the process of submission of PAI 2.0 (DCF) on the PAI Portal within the stipulated timeline and issued necessary directions to subordinate officers/officials to ensure the expeditious submission of certified PAI 2.0 data without fail.
He enjoined that this matter is crucial for ensuring the successful implementation of PAI 2.0 and for strengthening the accountability and development framework at the Panchayat level under various schemes and flagship missions.
