POONCH, AUGUST 03: In view of the ongoing Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal today visited the Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Shrine Complex at Mandi to oversee the arrangements and ensure the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner paid obeisance at the shrine and offered prayers for peace, harmony and prosperity of the region. He interacted with officials and stakeholders managing the yatra and reviewed facilities such as sanitation, traffic control, medical aid, water supply and lodging for pilgrims.
As part of infrastructure development for yatris, the Deputy Commissioner also visited the designated parking area and laid the foundation stone for a new toilet complex, aimed at enhancing public convenience during the pilgrimage.
The district administration remains fully committed to providing a safe, well-organized and spiritually enriching experience for yatris.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the status of land demarcation, site readiness and related infrastructural requirements. He also held detailed discussions with the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Haveli, Aijaz Jan, focusing on coordination for the upcoming development works.
Key areas of discussion included the demarcation of land for the college, initiation of construction activities and the development of the approach road to the site to ensure smooth accessibility.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the revenue and engineering departments to expedite the necessary groundwork and ensure timely completion of pre-construction formalities.
He emphasized that the establishment of the Degree College at Mandi is a vital step towards expanding access to higher education in this remote region and will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic future of local students.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Tehsildar Mandi and other concerned officers.
