UDHAMPUR, JANUARY 20: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, today chaired a meeting to review the Coordination of stakeholder departments regarding the forest clearance of developmental projects being implemented in the district.
During the meeting, the DC reviewed the projects requiring forest clearance and sought department-wise details on whether the requisite permissions have been obtained or were still pending.
Concerned officers briefed the chair on the current status of each project, the stages at which proposals were pending and the reasons for delay, if any.
Emphasizing the importance of timely forest clearances for the smooth execution of development works, while ensuring strict adherence to environmental norms, the DC directed the concerned departments to promptly remove deficiencies in their proposals, complete all pending formalities and maintain close coordination with the Forest Department to expedite the clearance process.
Stressing accountability, the DC urged officers to avoid unnecessary delays so that important public welfare projects are not hampered.
