Reasi, December 11, 2025: District Police Reasi, continuing its drive to ensure traffic discipline and enforce motor vehicle regulations, today seized 20 vehicles that were found plying in the district without proper transfer of ownership and without being registered in the name of the current users. These vehicles belonged to other States/UTs and had not been formally transferred as mandated under the Motor Vehicles Act.

The special checking drive was conducted across multiple locations in the district under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi, Sh. Paramvir Singh, JKPS. The action was taken after several such vehicles were found violating legal norms, posing security concerns and complicating identification during enforcement or emergencies.
Police have reiterated that all vehicle owners must ensure timely transfer of ownership, update registration certificates, and complete all legally required formalities before plying their vehicles on the roads.
SSP Reasi has urged the public to avoid using unregistered or improperly transferred vehicles, emphasizing that such violations attract legal penalties. He further cautioned that strict action will continue against those found violating traffic laws, including seizure of vehicles and legal proceedings under relevant sections.
District Police Reasi appeals to all citizens to cooperate and follow traffic rules to maintain safety and order on the roads.
