Sopore, Nov 4: Officials from the District Mineral Office (DMO) Baramulla, in coordination with the Fruit Mandi Police Post, foiled an attempt to illegally transport and sell soil near Fruit Mandi Sopore.
Several dumpers were intercepted while transporting soil under fake sand royalty documents. The vehicles were seized on the spot, and a penalty of ₹13,000 was imposed on the offenders.
Locals hailed the prompt action and urged authorities to maintain strict vigilance, especially in the Jahama area, to curb illegal soil extraction and transport activities.
