JAMMU, APRIL 07: Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) has been suspended in both directions following a heavy landslide between Digdol and Khooni Nallah, officials said on Tuesday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) NHW Raja Aadil Hamid said that vehicular movement from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice versa has been completely halted as the highway remains blocked due to debris.
He advised commuters to avoid travel on NH-44 until the road is fully cleared and restored, warning that attempting to move through the affected stretch could be risky.
The officer also urged the public not to rely on rumours and to verify updates only through official Traffic Police platforms, including social media channels and Traffic Control Units.
For assistance and real-time updates, commuters can contact Traffic Control Units in Jammu, Srinagar, and Ramban through designated helpline numbers, officials added.
