Miran Sahib Police Station, Jammu Busts Drug Network: Sibling Duo Nabbed with 550 gms approx of Heroin (Chitta)

In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Police Station Miran Sahib, Jammu, achieved a major breakthrough by apprehending two drug peddlers during routine naka checking at Balol Naka, leading to the recovery of a large quantity of heroin (Chitta).The operation resulted in the seizure of 550 grams (approx)of heroin(Chita),worth 70 Lakhs.A scooty bearing registration number JK02DA-9805 was also seized.The arrested accused have been identified as:1. Gurjeet Singh, S/o Avtar Singh, R/o Village Tanda, R.S. Pura, Jammu & 2. Navneet Kour, D/o Avtar Singh, R/o Village Tanda, R.S. Pura, Jammu.Both are siblings, and their interrogation is expected to provide further leads on the supply chain and distribution network of the contraband.In this regard, FIR No. 91/2025 has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib under sections 8/21/22/29/60 of the NDPS Act.The operation was led by SHO Miran Sahib, Inspector Sh. Jai Paul Sharma and PSI Ajesh Singh Jamwal, under the supervision of SDPO R.S. Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu.Further investigation is underway to trace the source and destination of the recovered contraband. Police are thoroughly examining both the backward and forward linkages in the case. Additionally, a financial investigation has been initiated to trace the proceeds of illegal narcotic trade and take appropriate legal action.It is pertinent to mention here that the mother of the siblings,accused namely Rajinder Kour W/o Avtar Singh, has been already arrested by Punjab police Punjab in the month of June this year in a drug peddling case registered at Police Station Shiata. Jammu Police urges citizens to come forward with any information regarding illegal drug activities in their localities. With continued public cooperation, sincere efforts are being made to build a drug-free and crime-free society.
