Operation Sindoor Showcases Tri-Services Synergy, Says CDS Gen Chauhan

New Delhi, Aug 10: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Anil Chauhan has hailed Operation Sindoor as a prime example of seamless coordination between the Army, Navy, and Air Force, stressing the need for ongoing reforms, adaptability, and joint operations to meet emerging security threats.

Speaking at the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad, Gen Chauhan outlined a roadmap for theatre commands to boost integrated capabilities. He also released the Joint Primer for Integrated Logistics, which the Defence Ministry described as a step towards modernising military logistics through integration, digitisation, and alignment with the national logistics framework.

The CDS underscored the importance of enhancing tri-services logistics coordination, improving efficiency, and ensuring readiness for any challenge. He also discussed ongoing transformative changes in the armed forces to adapt to technology-driven modern warfare, alongside strategic efforts to achieve jointness and integration.

Gen Chauhan’s remarks come as the government advances its theaterisation plan — a model that will unite Army, Navy, and Air Force assets under single theatre commands responsible for specific geographical areas, replacing the current system of separate service commands.

He highlighted the achievements of the Department of Military Affairs, key national security decision-making mechanisms, and reforms such as organisational restructuring, calling for continued coordination and self-reliance to address evolving national security challenges.
