Police Crack Down on Vehicle Dealers in Anantnag, Inspection Drive Aims to Curb Illegal Activities

Srinagar: Police on Friday said that a proactive inspection drive was carried out across Anantnag district to tighten security and curb illegal practices involving vehicle trade.

Acting on the directions of senior officials, police teams conducted thorough checking at various vehicle dealerships to ensure strict compliance with legal procedures related to buying and selling vehicles.

During the inspections, officers examined registration documents, stock records, sale and purchase agreements, and identity proofs of buyers and sellers. The focus was also on detecting any unregistered or suspicious vehicles being stored or sold through unauthorized means.

Police have instructed all vehicle dealers to maintain proper records as mandated by the Motor Vehicles Act and other regulations. Dealers were also reminded to promptly share transaction details with law enforcement agencies to prevent the misuse of vehicles in unlawful activities.

Authorities said the crackdown will continue in the coming days to strengthen monitoring and ensure transparency in the vehicle trade sector.
