Reasi District observes fifth day of Vande Mataram Phase–II celebrations with art, awareness and patriotic fervour

REASI, JANUARY 23: The fifth day of the Vande Mataram Phase–II celebrations in Reasi district was marked by vibrant expressions of patriotism, creativity and community participation.
Under the guidance of the District Development Commissioner Reasi, Nidhi Malik, a series of well-planned activities were organised across the district, reflecting the enduring spirit of nationalism and pride in India’s rich heritage.
Government Degree College, Kakryal- Katra, in collaboration with its National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit, organised an online awareness lecture on the theme “Vande Mataram – The National Song: Relevance in Modern India.”
Owing to inclement weather, the programme was conducted through Google Meet and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members and NSS volunteers. The interactive session focused on the historical significance and contemporary relevance of Vande Mataram as the nation commemorates the 150th anniversary of India’s national song.
Complementing the awareness programme, several art-based activities were conducted across the district to encourage creative expression among students. Poster-making and wall-painting activities on the theme of Vande Mataram were organised by the Wellbeing House at GHSS Katra, providing students with an opportunity to creatively express their patriotic sentiments. A painting competition was also held at PM SHRI GHS Katra, further promoting artistic talent and national consciousness.
Continuing the celebrations, Boys Higher Secondary School, Reasi, organised a painting competition under the Vande Mataram Phase–II action plan, marking 150 years of the national song. These activities witnessed active participation of students and youth, fostering a strong sense of patriotism, unity and cultural awareness across the district.
