RAJOURI, JANUARY 02: A road safety awareness campaign for vehicle operators was today organised on the Fitness Ground Rajouri under the aegis of National Road Safety Month.
Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO), Rajesh Gupta along with a team of MVD officials sensitized drivers and vehicle operators to the importance of adopting safe driving practices to minimize road accidents and enhance overall road safety.
The participants were educated on the significance of regular vehicle maintenance, adherence to traffic rules and the serious risks associated with the use of mobile phones while driving.
Special emphasis was laid on safe driving during dense fog conditions prevalent amid the ongoing winter season. Drivers were advised to maintain safe speed, use fog lights judiciously, keep safe distance between vehicles and remain alert to prevent mishaps during low-visibility conditions.
The initiative witnessed active participation from drivers and transport stakeholders, who appreciated the efforts of the Transport Department in promoting road safety awareness across the district.
