STOLEN PROPERTY WORTH ₹28 LAKHS RECOVERED BY POLICE STATION GANDHI NAGAR,JAMMU

In a major success against theft and burglary cases, Police Station Gandhi Nagar has recovered stolen property worth over ₹28 lakhs, thereby solving eight cases of theft reported in the area.

Acting on multiple complaints, 08 FIRs were registered at PS Gandhi Nagar. A special team, led by SHO Gandhi Nagar under,Inspector Jai Paul Sharma the close supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar and SP City South, was constituted. After hectic efforts, the team apprehended two accused — Shubam S/o Lt. Satish Kumar R/o Gurha Bakshi Nagar, Jammu and Sahil Kumar S/o Subhash Chander R/o Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. On their disclosure, two more accused — Vikas Bhalla S/o Baldev Bhalla R/o Sharika Vihar, Roop Nagar and Sunny Gupta S/o Sukh Dev Gupta R/o Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu — were arrested. From their possession, gold jewellery worth ₹25 lakhs was recovered, leading to the solving of six FIRs (130/2025, 133/2025, 151/2025, 177/2025, 183/2025, 187/2025).

In another breakthrough regarding a series of thefts in Government Quarters at Gandhi Nagar, sustained technical analysis of CCTV and Smart City camera footage led to the arrest of four accused — Sumit Athwal S/o Som Raj Athwal, Rohit Khokhar @ Rajan S/o Shinda Khokhar, Michael S/o Rajan (Juvenile), and Mohit S/o Channa, all residents of Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar. While three are presently in judicial/observation custody, Mohit remains in police custody. On their disclosure, police recovered seven stolen batteries, sanitary fittings worth ₹1.5 lakhs, and one stolen scooty (JK02BT-5874) linked to FIR No. 207/2024 of PS Gandhi Nagar.

With these recoveries, a total of 08 theft cases have been successfully solved by Police Station Gandhi Nagar, restoring valuable property to rightful owners and bringing relief to the community.

Jammu Police reiterated its firm commitment to curb theft, burglary, and organized crime, assuring that all necessary measures will continue to safeguard the lives and property of citizens.
