A massive fire broke out at a hardware shop and adjoining godown in Jammu & Kashmir’s Akhnoor, causing panic in the market area and losses worth several lakhs.The blaze spread rapidly due to highly inflammable materials like paint and chemicals stored inside.Firefighters battled the flames for hours and successfully prevented the fire from spreading to nearby shops. No casualties were reported, but the shop’s entire stock, furniture and records were destroyed. Authorities suspect a short circuit may have caused the fire, while investigations are underway.
