AssamRifles in a joint operation with the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Silchar, recovered 14,575 kg of poppy seedsand 14,004 kg of dry areca nuts worth approximately ₹4.10 crorefrom Vairengte, Kolasib District, Mizoram on 29 July 2026.
The seized contraband was handed over to DRI, Silchar, for further legal action. The successful operation underscores Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to curbing smuggling and ensuring the security of the region.
