AssamRifles in collaboration with the Custom Preventive Force, Champhai, launched a search operation along the Champhai–Khawzawl Road on 25 July 2026. The operation led to the recovery of 501 bags of areca nuts weighing 40,080 kg, valued at approximately ₹4.12 crore. The seized consignment was handed over to the Custom Preventive Force, Champhai, for further legal proceedings. The seizure highlights Assam Rifles continued commitment to curbing illegal smuggling and safeguarding the border population.
