Border-Sensitive AIIMS Jammu to Get Armed CISF Cover — First Hospital in India Set for Such Protection
The AIIMS Jammu campus in Vijaypur, Samba, located only a few kilometres from the India-Pakistan International Border, is set to receive armed CISF security, potentially making it the first hospital in India to get such protection
CISF deployment is being planned because of the campus’s sensitive border location.
The 226.84-acre facility sits along NH-44 in Samba district
A security survey and manpower assessment are currently underway
The move represents an unusual expansion of armed central security protection to a major healthcare facility
The decision comes against the backdrop of the hospital’s proximity to the India-Pakistan border, rather than any publicly reported specific attack on AIIMS Jammu
The hospital was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2024
