The Divisional Commissioner directed all concerned departments to ensure all necessary facilities are put in place well in advance to provide a safe, secure and comfortable pilgrimage experience to the yatris.
The Div Com and IGP Jammu also had an interaction with civil society members and religious heads to discuss issues and suggestions for the smooth conduct of the Yatra.
It was informed that the first batch of yatris is scheduled to be flagged off from Jammu on August 16, 2026, while the Chhari Yatra will be held on August 26, 2026.
A two-minute silence was also observed during the meeting in memory of those who lost their precious lives in the recent flash floods.
Div Com and IGP Jammu appealed to all for adhering to the public advisories and weather forecast advisories during the next couple of days which might receive continuous rain in the region.
