LG Ladakh met Hon’ble Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Shri Chirag Paswan Ji in Leh today and held a productive discussion on unlocking Ladakh’s immense potential in the food processing sector and bringing its unique high-altitude, organic products to the national and global markets.
They discussed the enormous potential of unique Ladakhi produces such as Sea Buckthorn, Raktsey Karpo and the world-famous Halman Apricots, which possess the quality and uniqueness to make a strong mark on the global stage. Strengthening food processing infrastructure in Ladakh will not only add immense value to local produce but also create new livelihood opportunities for entrepreneurs, women-led SHGs and farming communities.Grateful to Hon’ble Minister for assuring full support from the Ministry for promoting the food processing sector in Ladakh.
